God gives us the vision, then He takes us down to the valley to batter us into the shape of the vision, and it is in the valley that so many of us faint and give way. Every vision will be made real if we will have patience. Think of the enormous leisure of God! He is never in a hurry.

Jesus Christ does not save the worthy, but the unworthy. Your plea must not be righteousness but guilt
Times change. God doesn’t, but times do. Trials are medicines which our gracious and wise Physician prescribes because we need them; and he proportions the frequency and weight of them to what the case requires. Let us trust his skill and thank him for his prescription.
Maintain a spirit of peace and you will save a thousand souls.
If I were a physician, and if I were allowed to prescribe just one remedy for all the ills of the modern world, I would prescribe silence. For even if the Word of God were proclaimed in the modern world, how could one hear it with so much noise? Therefore, create silence.
How much would our churches be transformed if each of us made it a practice to thank God for others and then to tell those others what it is about them that we thank God for?
At the rate America is decaying morally, we shall have to change our national symbol from an eagle to a vulture.
The more the Gospel progresses and the closer we come to the end of the age, the more aggressive the enemy becomes. Sadly, many Christians are unaware that a battle is raging all around them, and they have not reported for duty.
Broken I run to you for your arms are open wide. I am weary but I know your touch restores my life.
It is, perhaps, one of the hardest struggles of the Christian life to learn this sentence– “Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto Thy name be glory.”

It is within my power either to serve God or not to serve Him. Serving Him, I add to my own good and the good of the whole world. Not serving Him, I forfeit my own good and deprive the world of that good, which was in my power to create.
The great thing to remember is that though our feelings come and go God’s love for us does not.
Faith is not intelligent understanding, faith is deliberate commitment to a Person where I see no way.
The eternal God asks a favor of his bride: “Hold me close to your heart, close as locket or bracelet fits.” No matter whether we walk or stand still, eat or drink, we should at all times wear the golden locket “Jesus” upon our heart.
Perhaps we don’t want to come face to face with the unsurrendered areas of our lives. We like our lives just as they are, even if it is less than God’s best.
The Bible is the voice of God in print.
It’s in our blind trust that love will find us, just like it has before.

I would rather win souls than be the greatest king or emperor on earth; I would rather win souls than be the greatest general that ever commanded an army; I would rather win souls than be the greatest poet, or novelist, or literary man who ever walked the earth. My one ambition in life is to win as many as possible.
Music, great music, distends the spirit, arouses profound emotions and almost naturally invites us to raise our minds and hearts to God in all situations of human existence, the joyful and the sad. Music can become prayer.
Put legs to your prayers
The highest honor in the church is not government but service.
A congregation that is not deeply and earnestly involved in the worldwide proclamation of the gospel does not understand the nature of salvation.

We, the women and men of the Church, we are in the middle of a love story: each of us is a link in this chain of love. And if we do not understand this, we have understood nothing of what the Church is.
The proof of love is in the works. Where love exists, it works great things. But when it ceases to act, it ceases to exist.
I think the reason we sometimes have the false sense that God is so far away is because that is where we have put him. We have kept him at a distance, and then when we are in need and call on him in prayer, we wonder where he is. He is exactly where we left him.
We must never promise ourselves any more than God has promised us.
There is no need to be dismayed if love sometimes follows torturous ways. Grace has the power to make straight the paths of human love.

When you begin to worship with all your being and desire, your heart turns Him toward you. You capture His attention and attracts His affection.
We can often do more by doing less. God is not particularly interested in quantity production. That is an American standard, not a Bible standard.
Christ alone can bring lasting peace – peace with God – peace among men and nations – and peace within our hearts.
The alternative to discipline is disaster
Faith is only as valid as its object. You could have tremendous faith in very thin ice and drown. . . . You could have very little faith in very thick ice and be perfectly secure.
Some people pray just to pray and some people pray to know God.
Be outrageous enough to trust God. Don’t be adjusting your vision downward. Keep believing for radical things in Christ.

I have a great need for Christ: I have a great Christ for my need.
If you love, you will suffer. The only way to protect yourself against suffering is to protect yourself against love – and that is the greatest suffering of all, loneliness.
Worship seals all prayers at the front and at the back. Always pray with praise beginning and praise ending.
Thy way, not mine, O Lord, however dark it be; lead me by thine own hand; choose out the path for me.
A true faith in Jesus Christ will not suffer us to be idle. No, it is an active, lively, restless principle; it fills the heart, so that it cannot be easy till it is doing something for Jesus Christ.
Jesus taught that your highest priority must be your relationship with Him. If anything detracts you from that relationship, that activity is not from God. God will not ask you to do something that hinders your relationship with Christ.

Prayer requires more of the heart than of the tongue.
